Hi Ladies:

It's been a while and we've been busy girls but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been helping us to continue the buzz about Get in Line. It's been close to five years since we launched the Get in Line stencil kit to Create Smoky eyes and Cat eyes and we are still going strong. Who knew that the Cat eye would be such a hot look for fall fashion and we would be getting so much attention.

Bobbie Thomas Beauty Editor for the Today show and In Touch Weekly, India Jewel-Jackson Beauty Editor at Glam.com, Kim from Overallbeauty.com, Teri from Beautifulmakeupsearch.com, Christina from ebeautydaily.com, Pascale at Hotmamadaily.com, Stylehive.com and all of the celebs that have been sporting Beth Bender Beauty since the beginning and showing us there fabulous Cat eyes and Smoky eyes.

A very special thanks to the fabulous Amy Winehouse who has brought back the Cat eye and made it even better.

On The Scene With Beth Bender Beauty

If you haven't already heard I have been in Hawaii for the last week working and visiting with friends. Most of whom are in the industry from make-up artists to hair stylists and wardrobe designer's.

My very best friend Mimi who runs the Betsey Johnson Boutique and takes care of most of the women on the show Lost ran into Evangeline lilly while she was shopping and picking up a few things. She was going on and on about how much she loves the Get in Line Stencil kit from Beth Bender beauty and the mineral bronzing powder "Soak up the sun". My friend James had used it on her for the first time a little over a year ago and she has been wearing it ever since. It looks very natural and gives just the right amount of color for a beautiful glow.

She has a few glosses from Beth Bender Beauty(Kookla is her favorite) and Mimi gave her a gel eyeliner in Cocoa to try. I was so sorry I missed her but hopefully I will get to connect with her before I leave to come home. Either way I am leaving a little goodie bag of some new things for Evangeline to fall in love with!

xoxo,

Beth

Beth Bender Beauty In The News

Meow for new makeup – the cat eye is back!

TODAY Style editor Bobbie Thomas highlights the hot beauty trend

Bobbie Thomas
TODAY Style Editor

If you've set your sights on a new look for fall, break out the black liner! Dark, drawn-on eyes are making a dramatic comeback this season. And whether you want to try out the winged tip or frame your eye with an all-around line, Bobbie Thomas, TODAY Style editor and author of the Buzz for “In Touch Weekly,” will help you get the look.

The top line
While a smudged, smoky eye has been hot for some time, the clean look of liquid liner is clawing its way back to the top this season. From makeup guru Pat McGrath's razor-sharp lined lids on Louis Vuitton's fall runway to ad campaigns and even celeb style, it seems that dark ink is adding edge to all eyes. This beauty trend is a not only a striking accessory, but easy for anyone to try — even if it's for one night only. Here are some products that will help you achieve this precisely penned appearance.

Gel liners
Thanks to a new crop of gel liners, pencils are now being pushed aside. No more irritated eyes or embarrassing smudges. Those looking to line the inside of the upper and lower lids are obsessing over this latest revolution in beauty because the formulations are water-resistant, won't run and last for hours. Bobbi Brown's Gel Ink Liner ($19; bobbibrown.com) and MAC's Fluidline ($15; mac.com) are two beauty-insider favorites.

Covergirl

Liquid liners
For those who have the patience to practice like a pro, liquid liner can look amazing if it's done precisely. Estee Lauder's Double Wear Zero-Smudge Liquid Liner ($19.50; Macy's stores), Chantecaille's Luminous Eye Liner ($22; neimanmarcus.com) and Covergirl's LineExact ($5.99; drugstore.com) are all known to glide on gracefully. Start from the middle of your lash line and extend out while resting your wrist against your cheek or other hand. Then finish by connecting the line from the corner of your eye to where you made your first mark in the middle.

Stencils
For some extra help, or a dramatic “winged” style (if you dare!), you may want to use a stencil. Singer Amy Winehouse is known for her signature

thick black liner, and calls The Get in Line Kit from Beth Bender Beauty “absolutely brilliant.” The set offers step-by-step instructions for painting on the purr-fect eye ($36; bettesboutique.com). Bobbie's Buzz: If you are using a powder, fold a tissue in half, place against your lower lash line and cover the undereye before applying stencil.

The bottom line
Dramatically lined lids make a strong statement all on their own, so you don't want to go overboard with extra makeup. Avoid overdoing your eye shadow, and instead opt for false lashes, which will really help your liner to pop. As for lips, ruby red is the standard match for this look. But for a fresh, modern, fashion-forward face, pair your black liner with a nude lip — and all eyes will be on yours.

Beth Bender Beauty & Britney

Britney’s little wish list for the VMA’s from Beth Bender Beauty

My assistant just phoned to say that someone from Britney's posse called requesting some Get in Line Stencil kits, six liquid lips in Chasing the Cash, Paris is Burning, Baby needs Bling and four Gel liners in Onyx. For what you might ask? The VMA's of course which this year will be taking place in Vegas baby, at the Palms Casino Resort on September 9th. She will be opening the show performing her new single "Gimme More".

Good call for MTV. I am sure she will set the tone for a truly exciting evening, lots of fun, great music and fabulous smoky eyes too.

Wish I could be there, but I will be in beth bender beauty products.

Big kiss Britney! Make us proud mama.

Sienna Miller's Scary Brows

The lovely Christina of ebeautydaily recently wrote about Sienna Miller's brows on the cover of Vogue for September and I just want to know quite frankly who has been shooting these covers. Lately the photo's look soft and not flattering at all. They have managed to take some of the most attractive women and turn them into horror's.

The scariest thing of all is that Anna Wintour herself approved this cover. Her brows are so over the top that unfortunately that is the only thing you see. So different than the picture of Sienna's eyebrows in the photo above. They are perfectly shaped and shaded to compliment her.

With all of the beauty trends that have come from fall fashion week and Vogue being one of the leaders in style and Beauty, I just want to say "What were they thinking?!"

You are not alone Christina. Brow power ladies.

Congratulations to ebeautydaily for all of it's amazing press and it's latest nod in Texas weekly.

Beauty On The Go With Beth Bender

Want to be glam without spending too much face time in front of the mirror? Here’s a few tips that you might try.

Accent your eyes with a brown shadow by smudging a bit along your upper lash line. If you’re a gal who likes to line the bottom then try a taupe shadow and brush along the lower lashes. This will give you a more natural look than using a pencil and stay put much longer.

Try a bright pink blush like “A little Crush” mineral blush from beth bender beauty. It is actually very pretty on and gives the cheeks the right amount of color for that “just flushed look”.

To give your cheekbones a bit of Hollywood dazzle take a shimmer cream or powder and apply as a highlighter. Try Benefit’s High Beam in Light Pink or All Over Face Shimmer in “Pretty”.

Finish the look with a shimmery nude lip gloss. My fav of course Chasing the Cash from beth bender beauty.

You can substitute a coral or peach tone mineral blush if your skin tone is darker.

Cheers!

xoxo,

Beth

Applying False Eyelashes Just Got Easier

This is a great addition to Shu Uemura. I adore their mascara and have been using for years. I love this tool and it is perfect for those who feel more comfortable with a tool instead of their hands. Makeupbag wrote about it last week praising its ease and I must agree.

Makeupbag loves the fact that you can see what you are doing which is the biggest problem with most applicators.

Unfortunately the Shu Uemura False eyelash applicator is currently unavailable, but I would recommend checking back with makeupbag for updates on where you can purchase.
