Spring Beauty Trends

Beauty Trends – Hollywood Style

Hot pink lips – ooh baby!

Molly Sims is all about the pink. Seen here with gorgeous pink cheeks and lips to match. Pink is the perfect girly and flirty color for lips this spring says Beth. Molly picked just the right shade that plays up her skintone and with so many variations of pink there is a great color for everyone.

Beth’s tip when choosing a bright pink lip color is to make that the focal point and keep everything else softer. For a great pink lip color try Honolulu Girl High Shine Glam gloss, $16 from beth bender beauty.

Red Carpet Style Watch

Pearlescent eye shimmers for spring

As we begin the spring season look for lots of light eye shimmers on the red carpet. As seen here on Leighton Meester who very confidently is batting a sparkling shimmery eye and looking quite beautiful.

To get Leighton’s look start by lining the inside of eyes with a soft deep purple eyeliner. Try Black purple 6L $16, from Make Up Forever. With the same pencil line the corners of eyes and blend into lashline. For a more dramatic look make the outer corners thicker as seen here on Leighton.

Next using a shimmer cream shadow apply over your entire eyelid and along the lower lashline. Use your fingers to do both. Try Lilac Opalescence, $16 from beth bender beauty.

Finally, finish by sweeping a golden beige shimmer shadow into the crease using a blender brush for a perfect application. Try Ambra Eye Dust, $16 from beth bender beauty.

Celebs Wearing Beth Bender Beauty

Seen Vanessa Williams at an event for BeBe in Beverly Hills. Our beauty spies ran into her in the ladies lounge where she was carefully applying some Chasing the Cash lip color and giving her cheeks a little pop with her Just Peachy Bronzer.

Seen Paris Hilton doing a little shopping on Robertson Blvd but not wearing our Robertson Blvd. Instead she went with Rock Star Liquid lip color which she took time to apply perfectly on her famous pout while she waited for her packages.

Kate Bosworth down under in Australia phoning in a care package of beth bender beauty goodies to her publicist. Her wishlist included a Paris is Burning Liquid lip color, Kiss my Lips High Shine Gloss, Gel Eyeliner in Wisteria and her favorite blush, A little Crush.

Seen Julia Roberts in Venice running some errands and grabbing a coffee before picking up her kids. Our beauty spies watched as she gave her gorgeous pout a touch of color with glam gloss in Nashville, a pretty berry shade.

More Sexy Smoky Cat Eyes

Rachel McAdams Red Carpet Smoky Eyes

Rachel McAdams blazed the red carpet this week with shimmer-rimmed eyes topped by loads of matte charcoal smoky shadow. Her eyes purred with perfection and she got a big thumbs up from us for a super gorgeous smoky-cat eye.

Beth says it’s all about where you place the color that will give you the look you desire. She suggests mixing a dark chocolate and charcoal eyeshadow together and applying from the outer corner of eye using a soft eye shadow brush. Bring it back toward the iris and blend into the crease to create the smoky-cat eye look seen here on Rachel.

An even easier way to get this look is to use the cat eye Stencil from the Get in Line Eyeliner Kit (both shadows included) placing it higher on the eyelid will give you a thick and smoky cat eye with a strong point on the outer eye like Rachel’s. Soften the edges with your eyeshadow brush and finish with an icy shadow near the inner corner of the eye that extends to the iris and sweep the color on the lower lashline too. Try Abyssinia, a delicate pearl sheen shadow from NARS.

For added eye popping appeal use a black gel eyeliner to line along the lashline. Apply to the outer eye area and blend into the center of eyes rather than lining the entire eye. Repeat the same on the bottom. Try Onyx Stay Put gel Eyeliner, $18 at

You’ve got sexy smoky cat eyes baby!

A Great Cream Shadow From Shiseido

I sometimes get asked if it’s weird to be recommending other beauty products when I have my own beauty line, but the answer is absolutely not. I was a make up artist first for years before I even began my own beauty line and am a big supporter of other artist’s who have their own beauty lines.

One of my long time fav’s is Shiseido. I began wearing this fabulous line in my early 20’s when I was introduced to it on a visit to Japan. I am also a huge fan of Dick Page who has become a pretty important part of their beauty line going forward.

I was given this cream to powder shadow in Rose Tulle (a new shade) to try and have to say it is pretty amazing. It looks beautiful on and is crease free which is always an added when it comes to creams. It’s the perfect amount of shimmer and color for the eyes. They have so many colors to choose from so you won’t have a problem finding one that suits you.

Get in Line Gets Another Thumbs Up!

We are so fortunate to have some of the best beauty blog sites still talking about our Get in Line Eyeliner Kit. So much of the excitement that continues to follow the Get in Line Kit from beth bender beauty is due to all of the beauty bloggers, Beautiful Makeup Search, ebeautydaily, Glam, Celeblook, Hotmamadaily just to name a few who have helped us to get the word out about our products and this amazing tool for creating perfect eyeliner. Our most recent review comes from Amber of Beauty Blogging Junkie. She has a fantastic Beauty Blog site that is addicting and I am sure you will agree has some great must have goodies featured daily.

Kevyn Aucoin’s New Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Medium Nude Beige . Have you tried it? It is just what my make up bag and Kit have been missing. Fabulous for creating fuller lips without the pain. Best thing about this lip pencil is that you can use it with any color to define your lips without them looking unnatural. There are three additional flesh tone colors but this is my favorite.

It glides on with little effort and is firm enough to apply color where ever it’s needed. Another added bonus is it actually lasts. You can check this new gem out at and Kevyn’s fabulous beauty line at

Red Carpet Beauty Oscar Finale

Red Carpet Beauty – The Oscars 2008

Cameron Diaz gives us a gorgeous glow

Our little surfer girl looked beautiful on Oscar night with a pale pink gown and make up that was radiant throughout the evening. Her sun kissed glow, bronzed goddess like eyelids and pale pink lips were the perfect compliment to her swept back do.

To get Cameron’s sexy look start with a tinted moisturizer first and apply with a brush for a more sheer application. We like Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer, it goes on sheer and gives the skin a healthy glow.

Next apply a Bronzing Powder in a peachy gold tone. Try Just Peachy from beth bender beauty. Using a bronzer brush apply to the cheeks, a touch on the forehead and bridge of nose to add warmth to the entire face.

Create your sultry smoky eyes in golden and bronze tones blending two colors together before applying to the eye. Try Ambra Eye Dust and Ginger Eye Dust both from beth bender. These colors can be used with your fingers by patting the color directly onto your eyelid or with an eyeshadow brush. When applied with a slightly dampened brush the color lasts even longer and is very vibrant. Sweep the same colors underneath the eye too.

Apply a touch of eyeliner at the outer corners of each eye and underneath as seen here on Cameron. Keep the liner on the thinner and softer side. Use a gel eyeliner to prevent the line from smudging. Try Stay Put Gel Liner in Onyx.

With such beautiful eyes, leave the lips pale and shimmery. Pale pink lips were everywhere the night of the Oscars and we here that Paris is Burning was keeping many pouts perfect on the red carpet and backstage as well. You can find this pink nude shimmer and lots of other pretty pink glosses at beth bender beauty.

Red Carpet Beauty Oscar Finale

Red Carpet Beauty – The Oscars 2008

Penelope Cruz does sexy cat eyes

We are so late in getting the rest of our favorite red carpet beauties up on our blog but here they are. We hope you enjoy!

We just adore Penelope Cruz. She has great style and you can always count on her to be sporting gorgeous eyes, smoky eye or cat eye, she loves them both. At the Oscars she didn’t disappoint, her make up looked fresh and her skin was radiant. The focus was on her eyes which were tightly lined using a black gel eyeliner and then set using a Violet eyeshadow and pale lavender shadow to highlight the eyelids.

To get Penelope’s sexy eyes start with a rich black gel liner, try Onyx from beth bender and using a tapered brush apply along the lashline making sure to extend the line beyond the lashes and increasing the thickness of liner as you get closer to the outer eye.

Repeat the same underneath the lower lashline starting with a thicker line at the outer eye and tapering the line as you get closer to the inner eye. If you prefer not to line the entire eye as Penelope has done, you can blend the liner and stop slightly beyond the center of eye on the top and bottom.

Once you have finished applying the gel liner, using an eyeshadow brush take your Violet eyeshadow, Try Lilly Eyedust and sweep lightly over the liner and blend onto eyelid as seen here on Penelope. Take the same color and sweep under the eye as well. This will soften the liner and give the eyes a very sultry look. For eye popping peeper’s take a pale lavender shimmer, try Twinkle Twinkle and apply to the inner corner of eyes and blend into crease.

Finish with two coats of rich black mascara focusing on the outer lashes and make sure to hit the bottom lashes too. Try Lashblast Mascara in Black from CoverGirl available at most drugstores, Target, CVS and Walmart.
Perfect eyes deserve perfect brows so make sure yours are groomed and red carpet ready. If you need some help with your brows check out Anastasia’s Eyebrow stencils for creating perfect brows.
