Eyes first- foundation last

Want to save time putting your face on in the morning? Try doing your eyes first and saving skin care & foundation for last. It saves times and prevents extra clean up from shadows and eyeliner that may bleed beyond the eye area.

If you do get a little bleeding take a Q-tip and dip into a tiny bit of eye or face cream . Gently apply to the eye area and wipe away and unwanted color.

A great tip I learned during all those shows backstage.

Alluring Eyes

Sexy smoky eyes. Will they ever go away? No and I can’t blame them. Look how beautiful each one of these women looks. What’s not to love about a smoky eye? Any shape, color or look is so beautiful. A soft brow or a strong brow. Whatever your mood.

These looks have got my vote. Smoky eyes are my fav as most of you already know. I get tons of requests for them whenever I work so I am always prepared and ready to go.

Every time I pull out my Eyeliner stencil kit all the girls gather round to check it out. And always they are amazed at how easy and quick it is to create these looks. Even the most seasoned artists have the kit and use it especially when they are under the gun and every minute counts. Many of them have eyebrow stencils too. There is nothing lazy about using a great tool to make it a little easier and get the job done.

I once spent three hours watching a well known make-up artist attempt to do a smoky eye on a gal for the Grammy’s. It was painful to watch her struggle and finally she left the suite and had someone finish the job. Not a very good day for her. The stencils both for eyeliner and eyebrow would have helped her with placement and given her the confidence to “get the job done”.

Magazines like Allure, Marie Claire, Teen Vogue and In Style are always a great way to get the latest beauty trends and “How to’s” for creating these looks above or any others.

Sunless Tanners I love

Want the look of a tan without baking in the sun? Then check out these great products the next time you visit your nearest shopping mall or drugstore. Neutrogena’s Instant Bronze is great for girls on the go. It’s oil free and dries in less than five minutes. Looks great and gives your skin a natural glow. It retails for $10 and can be found at any Target, CVS or Rite Aid.

My next fav is Prescriptives Sunsheen. The color is a subtle golden color which looks great on most skin tones and even better it has an SPF of 15. Yeah!!! $27 and you can find it at most Prescriptive counters or online at prescriptives.com.

Another fav of mine is A Tan for All Seasons from Bliss. I just used this on a shoot last week and this totally rocks!!! It gives you splotch free coverage and offers a super fine mist and a 360-degree nozzle. It has a peachy undertone that makes it perfect for pale skin. I used it on two different girls and a guy. It went on without any streaks and stayed on. It is a little on the pricey side but worth the investment. $36 and available at blissworld.com

Silver eyeliner to wake up those eyes

Want to give your eyes a little pick me up? Try lining them with a silver liner. It looks great and brightens up the entire face. Try a pale platinum and line the eyes as close to the lid as possible. A nice sharp line will give your eyes extra intensity. For a longer lasting liner try one of Make-up Forever liquid liners.

A lovely blog from Teen Vogue

Jane Shin Park the Associate Beauty & Health Editor from Teen Vogue is an absolute doll. I wanted to share with everyone the most beautiful blog written about our glam glosses.

Jane's In Bloom!

Glam_gloss_web_2 Being a beauty editor, I have the envy-inspiring fortune of checking out the latest lipgloss launches from the biggest cosmetics companies out there. But it was a super cute, petal-pot from an under-the-radar brand that recently caught my attention.

Created by Los Angeles-based makeup artist Beth Bender, who worked with makeup legend Bobbi Brown for six years, Glam Gloss perfectly evokes the carefree spirit of summer. And it's not just the packaging, which features a sunny flower hand-painted by Beth’s mother and sister. In this case, it's truly what's inside that counts. With a wide selection of juicy, high-shine shades to choose from, it's no wonder that Hollywood starlets like Kate Bosworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Mischa Barton are fans of the line. $16; bethbender.com.—JANE SHIN PARK, ASSOCIATE BEAUTY AND HEALTH EDITOR

Keeping your eyeliner on your eyes

Hi Ladies:

I am back from New York City and right back into my crazy life. I ended up working but it was so much fun it didn’t feel like work at all. It was very humid the day we were shooting and I had to make sure that the eyeliner stayed put. Nothing worse than having to keep cleaning up and powdering under the eye.

Thank God I had my eyeliner sealant with me. It worked like a dream and the eyes looked great. A good little product to have in your make-up bag just in case. You can find this at most beauty supply stores or online at Alcone.com.

The weather here in LA has been soooo hot that I have been loading on the sunscreen. My new fav is from Rilistil. It comes in 40 and 50 SPF. I wear the 40, it is kind of thick but it really keeps the sun off of your face. And it smells so good, like vanilla.

It is good to be back in Hollywood baby!

Soliv Skin Care Still Rules

As you all know I have been using this amazing skin care line called Soliv for the past six weeks and have been giving you updates on the changes in my skin. At the suggestion of my very good friend and VP of Sales for Beth Bender beauty, Lisa Marandas I have started using the mask everyday and boy have I seen a huge difference in my skin.

First of all whatever fine lines I had are pretty much gone and my skin looks firm & flawless. I am going to be 46 years old next month and I still get asked to show my ID. I think this is probably the most amazing skin care line to hit the world of beauty and I would urge anyone who wants to turn back time to give this a try.

Lisa has been using the products a little longer than myself and is constantly asked what she is using on her skin. As I mentioned before the product is just now being placed in spas and salons across the US. You can visit their website at

http://www.soliv.com/index.html

Just to give you an idea of how great this product is:

  • Improved skin texture, color and integrity of the skin

  • High firming properties that address slackening skin

  • Boost of hydration

  • Pore tightening

  • Effective on skin barrier for more youthful looking skin

  • Effective on scar reduction and burns

  • Line reduction

  • Suitable for highly sensitive skin types

  • Reduction in redness and calming associated with rosacea

  • Versatile – suitable for all skin types

  • Returns the skin to a younger looking state in one day

Oh and did I mention, It won’t break your bank account either. How great is that!
